Final Cut Pro & DV Movie Editing

I had an old copy of Final Cut Pro 1.0 lying around so I installed it on the 3400c. Installation went fine. I then downloaded the Final Cut Pro 1.2.5 upgrade from Apple's website and installed it.

After getting FireWire to work (read FireWire section) I plugged my Sony DV Handicam into the firewire port and started up Final Cut Pro and played around with it for awhile.

Final Cut Pro's default settings were too much for the 3400c to handle. I set FCP to import and work with smaller resolution video and an easier compression format (Video High Quality). That worked much better for importing, although exporting to the Camera is still out of the question (its way too slow and choppy). So all in all the 3400c imports sortof ok at 15 fps at 320 x 240 res and Video compression.

So it kindof works and kindof doesnt, but it makes for great pictures.
